Once upon a time before the Earth was called Earth and the people called people, the Earth was very plain without any people or real life. There only lived a single human being, an old man too. He had the gift of creating magical blankets that were all unique in size, color, and pattern. The old man secretly had magical powers that could make anything happy and come to life. The old man loved to sit by the river whenever he wove his blankets.
Of course from time to time he would feel lonely being the only one of his kind on Earth. "If only I had people to enjoy my life with! How I long for companionship and friends to take care of me!" the old man said to aloud to himself. Then one day he had this idea. It was the best idea he ever had, so great he started to dance! He decided to use his skills of blanket weaving to grant his own wish.
The very next day he got to work bright and early, starting to weave his first blanket. He was going to make an enormous blanket with a new print he had never tried before. He was going to make a print with people laughing and dancing together, on his blanket. He had never seen beings of his kind, so he didn’t know exactly how to make them look. He decided to make them all look different; all young, old, or middle-aged. "There all done! Now for the finishing touch." He lifted his hands above the blanket and used his powers to make the people in the print rise. Slowly one by one, the people came to life and stood up. Soon the river contained a huge group of people, crowded around the old man. He was at last happy to have company.
Years passed and the old man kept using his powers to fill the Earth with more beauty. He made the first flowers, trees, animals, and insects to live on Earth. However he couldn’t make these things and people forever. Therefore he taught his people how to reproduce and to care for their planet. When the time came for him to leave, the world was in good hands and there were people and nature to inhabit the Earth for a long time. That is how the world was created.
